Brief=An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, "The Green Knight" tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table runtime=2 hour 5 minute Horror Director=David Lowery. Green knight movie. Level 1 I wasn't aware this was being pushed as a Horror film (though the potential is there in the story), but I am very excited for it regardless. Lot of talent involved; Ralph Ineson as the Green Knight sounds awesome, and I'm a big fan of Joel Edgerton too. level 2 I hope it’s not going to be another It Comes At Night (don’t get me wrong, I loved that film but it was marketed too much as a horror-horror and not a psychological thriller hence tons of backlash), and hope it’ll be full blown horror! level 2 I didn’t mean to call you a meatloaf, Jack Original Poster 47 points · 2 months ago I mean I doubt it’s gonna be in-your-face scary, but the story is still horror imo. the Green Knight (the character) has potential to be really sinister/frightening, along with the witch and some other elements of the story. Ralph Ineson’s voice is perfect for this character level 1 Don't know much about this but I always support a24 when it comes to the horror genre! level 2 I didn’t mean to call you a meatloaf, Jack Original Poster 15 points · 2 months ago I never knew about it until today either. but yeah I think this is in good hands, you know the horror isn’t gonna be cheap level 2 I know it's a Reddit circlejerk at this point, but they are an incredible production company and give filmmakers complete reign over their films! Every A24 flick I've seen has been fantastic. My library has a promotion where you can use a streaming service for four free movies per month and they have just about every A24 movie. level 1 Synopsis: An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table. Edit: Here's test footage of the Green Knight. level 2 Wow the green Knight looks like a five star man level 2 Better mascot than the Philly Phanatic level 1 Really hope they can get Martin Lawrence back for this sequel. level 2 Black knight is underrated lol level 2 Haha you killed me with that one level 1 Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is one of the creepiest stories from the King Arthur mythos. There is the whole beheading game and the creepy ass castle, and I'm excited to see if they recreate the tension from when Gawain gets his turn to receive the strike. I'm so excited to see this. level 2 Any other creepy stories from the King Arthur mythos? level 1 David Lowery is such an intriguing filmmaker who always takes on interesting projects. He is able to make both arthouse and genre films. From Pete's Dragon to A Ghost Story to The Old Man and the Gun shows great range. So, I am very much looking forward to this film. level 1 I saw the poster today. Joel Edgerton killed it in Henry last year and with Dev Patel and A24 at the helm of this one, I’m so pumped. If it has a horror edge to it I’d be super happy but I’ve honestly been waiting for something King Arthur related to be made into a decent film level 1 Holy shit this sounds amazing and that poster is fantastic. Great cast too, always happy to watch Ralph Ineson and Sean Harris, especially cool for Ineson to have more of a prominent role than a lot of his work.

Green knight minecraft skin. Level 1 Is this supposed to be like, Sir Gawain, or is the title just happenstance? level 2 The fact that the actor who played Gawain from the Clive Owen King Arthur is in this is a hilarious coincidence. level 2 I remember reading that book in high school. One of my favorites from what I remember. That and Enders game. level 2 My boy Gawain with his Galatine! level 2 So much of the trailer reminds me of The Witch, but I'm going to be real disappointed if it turns out to all be an allegory/psychedelic experience. The Witch captured the worldview, mythology and fears of a protestant pilgrim perfectly. I want this to do the same with Arthurian legend, not be a "deconstruction" -- but the shot of the boar-person and others worry me. Please just tell the story as is, it's good enough on its own. level 2 Dev Patel is portraying Gawain, yes. level 2 It's the sequel to The Green Book and The Dark Knight. level 2 Hmm, but isn't the Green Knight just... a regular knight? Not some hulk? Are they mixing it with the legend of the Green Man? level 1 This looks stylish as fuck. level 2 The opening shot was awesome. level 2 Seems like a lot of work just to lay out a backstory for The Green Knight at Medieval Times, but hey Dev Patel is getting work so I'm not gonna complain. level 2 This trailer is so A24 I was expecting it to say "Ari Aster's The Green Knight. " level 2 A24 really is the best. I thought I was niche for Gawain being my favorite knight from Arthurian legend and they were like "we got you, baby" Gawain fact one: He was played by Joel Edgerton in 2004's King Arthur. Edgerton is in this movie. Gawain Fact 2: infamous rake Lancelot was a later addition to the King Arthur Mythos. As such, a lot of Gawain's exploits and narrative purpose got transferred to the one who Lance's a lot. Why? Because like Vince McMahon today, they thought a cucking storyline would spice things up.

Level 1 I'm really excited about this movie, it looks really good and David Lowery made one of my favorite movies. level 2 If you’re talking about A Ghost Story then you and me have the same great taste! level 2 I absolutely hated Ghost Story when I first watched it. I didn't enjoy it at all and felt like it was a waste of time. But I have to admit it has really stuck with me in an unexpected way. I'm still not sure if I'd say I like the movie, but the fact that still pops into my mind and gives me an eerie feeling must be a testament to the film making. I'm curious, what makes you like the film so much? level 2 Word is Rooney Mara is still eating that pie to this day level 2 has he done anything other than Ghost Story? level 1 This looks AWESOME. Truly some great imagery just in this trailer. That first shot, oh boy let’s go. And then that shot of a giant hand appearing over the stuff level 2 I was gonna say something about that hand too! The most eye catching shot in the trailer for me, very excited about this one! level 1 Feels like this is as close to a Dark Souls movie as we will ever get level 2 the source material is very very different from Dark Souls. Thematically, it's about the relationships between men and women at court. Dark Souls definitely takes inspiration from the time period this poem is from ("Guinevere" being a key reference), so I understand why they give the same feel. level 2 Didn't know I wanted this. Wish dark souls was based on a book series or something, love all the twisted stories they create in that universe level 2 Now, to try to keep from going hollow until then... level 1 I have no idea what’s going on but it looks great. level 2 Do you not know of the tale Sir Gawain and The Green Knight? Edit: It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you level 1 A24 just stays killing the game. Best studio in the industry today IMO. level 2 Honestly I don't think it is even a contest. The amount of good content they put out last year was actually incredible. They are putting out movies that make you think and feel in ways a lot of today's films just do not do. Walking out of an a24 movie is a drug and I will tell you I am addicted for sure, 2020 going to set them in the history books.

I very much enjoyed Sir Gawain and Sir Orfeo, but did not care for Pearl. Tolkien's translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight fascinated me with its structure and alliteration in a translation. I mean, yes, he did have to change things a little here and there to make it work in modern English, but still... impressive. Green knight reaction. Green knights sports.
